The Art of Hand-Finished Movements: Inside Our Workshop
In the world of luxury watchmaking, the movement is where art meets engineering. At TIMEBUILT, every movement undergoes hours of painstaking hand-finishing by our master craftsmen.
The Geneva Stripes
Also known as Côtes de Genève, these decorative stripes are applied to the bridges and plates of our movements. Each stripe is carefully polished at a precise angle to catch the light beautifully through the exhibition caseback.
Beveling by Hand
The edges of each component are chamfered at a 45-degree angle and polished to a mirror finish. This process, called anglage, can take up to two hours per bridge when done by hand.
The Finishing Touch
Finally, our artisans apply perlage (circular graining) to the base plates, creating a mesmerizing pattern that demonstrates the level of care invested in every timepiece.
